Solid Copper, Not Copper-Clad

The quality of the cable you install determines the reliability of the entire network. We refuse to compromise on the physical medium that carries your data and power.

What We Install: Solid Bare Copper Cat6

  • Full compliance with TIA-568 standards and UL/ETL listings.
  • Lower DC resistance allows full-length PoE runs to power cameras, WAPs, and door controllers without voltage drop or heat buildup.
  • Stable performance supporting gigabit speeds up to the full 100m/328ft channel length.
  • Ductile copper conductors terminate cleanly and survive re-termination.
  • Required for code-compliant and warrantable commercial installations.

What Cheap Installers Use: CCA

  • Aluminum core with only a thin copper plating.
  • Roughly 40% higher resistance causes voltage drop, leading to PoE devices that randomly reboot or run dangerously hot.
  • Aluminum work-hardens and snaps easily at terminations, or oxidizes into intermittent faults at punch-downs and jacks.
  • Usually not UL-listed or NEC-compliant, instantly voiding equipment and cabling warranties.
  • Fails rigorous certification testing; cheap up front but expensive to rip out and replace later.
The cable is the one part of the installation you can't upgrade later without opening walls and ceilings. That's why we never cut corners on copper.
Fire Code Compliance

Riser vs. Plenum: Using the Right Jacket

Cable jackets aren't just about durability—they're life-safety components regulated by the National Electrical Code.

CMR / Riser-Rated

Designed for vertical runs between floors, risers, shafts, conduit, and general in-wall/non-air-handling areas.

  • Flame-retardant properties ensure fire won't travel floor to floor via the cable pathways.
  • Less expensive than plenum.
  • The correct and compliant choice strictly where no environmental air is handled.

CMP / Plenum-Rated

Required by NEC Article 800 in plenum spaces — the air-handling space above drop ceilings or under raised floors used for HVAC return.

  • Constructed with a low-smoke, low-toxicity fluoropolymer (FEP) jacket.
  • Prevents the release of dense, toxic smoke that would be distributed throughout the building by the HVAC system during a fire.
  • Higher upfront cost, but it is a strict code requirement, not an optional upgrade.

Important Note: Plenum can substitute for riser, but riser can never be used in a plenum space. We verify with building mechanical drawings or inspectors to determine which spaces are plenum. Using riser cable in a plenum ceiling is one of the most common failed-inspection and liability issues we get called in to fix.

Testing, Certification & Handoff

Every single cable we drop undergoes rigorous certification testing using calibrated enterprise testers. We verify wire map, check total length, and measure critical interference metrics like insertion loss, NEXT (Near-End Crosstalk), and return loss. Both ends are clearly labeled according to logical physical schemas, and we hand over complete digital documentation so your IT team knows exactly where every connection goes.
